The Devil You Know

Rejected by the man she thought loved her, Frederica "Freddie" d'Avillez turns to Randolph "Bentley" Rutledge to wash away the memory of her fickle former beau. With his reputation as a wicked rogue, "Hell-Bent" Rutledge is not the material from which good, dependable husbands are fashioned, but he is something of an expert in matters of seduction and thus should be the perfect person to introduce Freddie into the delights of passion.

Giving into Freddie's request to show her one night of love, Bentley is surprised not to hear from her again until he bumps into her at a society affair and discovers that their little fling has left her pregnant.
